EVP Alpha Drive Belts for Polaris RZR Pro R
DESCRIPTION
Evolution Powersports is setting new standards for durability, reliability, and power out of a CVT drive belt. Regardless of where you ride or how much horsepower your vehicle has, EVP Alpha Drive Belts reimagine what’s expected from a UTV performance belt. Â
Durability comes from a newly blended synthetic rubber with advanced cord technology, as well as belt face angles that are precision machined to extremely strict specs. The compound, cord materials and finish are the keys to Alpha Drive Belts’ strength and performance. In total, EVP tested six different compounds. Although all were superior to anything else on the market, the one we selected stood out among the rest.
We tested Alpha belts under a variety of conditions and horsepower levels (including stock) throughout the demanding testing and development phases. This included countless Mainline Dyno pulls on our 600+ horsepower Pro R to simulate the absolute harshest conditions these belts would ever encounter. Our baseline was the OEM Polaris Pro R belt, which at the time was the best belt for the Pro R that we came across. The EVP Alpha Belt lasted double the dyno pulls vs the OEM. This test was repeated numerous times, and the results were the same – TWO TIMES the life of the OEM belt!
In addition to strength, the Alpha Belt consistently showed the highest horsepower runs vs OEM or any of the other compounds we tested. On average, it was 15 WHP more than any other belt. More engine power was being transmitted to the hubs and less was being wasted in slippage and heat – it was clear early on Alpha Belts were an absolute game changer for putting power to the driveline.
- Tested and proven performance on EVP’s most powerful race X3’s and RZR’s (tested to 800 crank HP)
- Stronger pulls, plus more durability and reliability compared to anything else in the market including OEM
- All-new advanced rubber compound with maximum fiber loading to transmit the most horsepower
- Strategically reinforced highly engineered top and bottom cog designs resist cupping, deformation and delamination
- Constructed with an ultra-strong Aramid cord with high twist characteristics for greater shock absorption and load capabilities
- Launch acceleration unlike anything available; precision-machined sidewall angles deliver insane pulls off the line via greater horsepower transmissibility to the driveline
- Designed and constructed to dissipate heat for drastically lower belt and clutch temperatures
- Proven performance in the most severe conditions and on the highest horsepower machines, offering the greatest durability and performance on the market today

Drive Belt Failures
Hour Glassing
Description: A narrow or worn section in the center of the belt.
Cause: When the drive clutch is spinning and the belt remains stationary.
Status: Not Warrantied
Cord Pop Out
Description: When the center cord separates from the belt.
Cause: Improper bonding.
Status: Warrantied
Flex Crack
Cause: The belt was bent/flexed improperly.
Status: Not Warrantied
Glazing
Description: The sides of the belt look shiny and overheated.
Cause: Belt slippage, overheating from improper clutching and/or abuse.
Status: Not Warrantied
Tearing
Description: The drive belt appears to have hit something and is starting to tear or has torn.
Cause: Worn or damaged clutches causing the clutches not to shift properly. Excessive use of brakes or jumping. The belt will bow and can catch the inner clutch housing.
Status: Not Warrantied
Delamination
Description: Separation of the belt layers.
Cause: Improper bonding of the belt layers.
Status: Warrantied
Broken Belt
Cause: Shock loading the belt will cause breakage. Driving at high speeds (overdrive) for long periods of time. Excessive engagement RPM. Improper gear ratio, clutch center-to-center distance. Jammed or locked drivetrain.
Status: Not Warrantied
Disintegration
Description: The drive belt has separated into pieces.
Cause: Can be caused by different belt conditions such as hour glassing, glazing, flex cracks, or misalignment. Plugged or restricted air intake to clutch housing.
Excessive heat build-up is the main cause of disintegration.
Status: Not Warrantied
